“It can be very difficult to choose the best location for starting an innovative company. In fact, few decisions will have more effect on your daily life as an entrepreneur.”
A few weeks ago I had the chance to help Vanessa Schmidtke mapping the startup ecosystem in Pforzheim for an article on Medium. The article was created as part of a series by First Momentum Ventures to put the spotlight on startup destinations and ecosystems in Germany.
With our article on Pforzheim, we wanted to show what the smaller and lesser known startup destination can offer. These are often underestimated and offer a great value, network and also a close proximity to the mayor startup hubs. Pforzheim is such a location. When we founded the Entrepreneurs Pforzheim e.V. in 2015, there was already a legacy of great entrepreneurs to build upon. As one of the executive staff at the club, Vanessa is part of the fourth generation of inspiring student entrepreneurs to further develop the startup ecosystem of Pforzheim.
Over the last years, the network has expanded and introduced many new players which support startups in Pforzheim. We were amazed by the quantity and quality of the offers which support young entrepreneurs! This includes everything from co-working over incubation to spin-off support by the University of Pforzheim.
If you consider choosing a location for you next startup in the south-west, I would highly recommend Vanessas article which can be viewed here on Medium.
